"alterations"?
Avatar
Deleted User 5/3/2018 5:05 PM
yeah things in speech that felt like they were original
Avatar
bduddy #Diana# 5/3/2018 5:06 PM
you mean you were parroting, or...?
Avatar
Deleted User 5/3/2018 5:07 PM
I usually end up parroting dialogue even if I don't mean to
Avatar
bduddy #Diana# 5/3/2018 5:07 PM
err, what do you mean by that?
Avatar
The definition of parroting is it being intentional
Avatar
Deleted User 5/3/2018 5:07 PM
I will say something and without really consciously doing it I'll end up puppeting
Avatar
How do you know?
5:08 PM
Could be your tulpa
Avatar
Deleted User 5/3/2018 5:09 PM
I don't think it is
Avatar
bduddy #Diana# 5/3/2018 5:09 PM
why not?

I can kind of feel like it's my mind on the backburner and that the thoughts aren't very independent
Avatar
bduddy #Diana# 5/3/2018 5:12 PM
well, it is your brain, after all. But for most people, that's how it starts.
5:12 PM
the secret is, at the beginning, you're not completely independent. But if you treat them as such, they will be.
Avatar
Deleted User 5/3/2018 5:13 PM
I'll keep that in mind
Avatar
"I can kind of feel like it's my mind on the backburner and that the thoughts aren't very independent" - this is highly typical and why I recommend not making assumptions. Time and experience helps you feel the difference more strongly.

Congratulations on getting a first definite response, @Deleted User.

Thanks

It's hard to not puppet when you're visualizing
Avatar
It can be. Perhaps try to speak without while leaving space for responses, but not expecting them?
Avatar
Deleted User 5/3/2018 5:26 PM
That's what I usually do
Avatar
What Winter said. You felt that odd feeling of confusion, and you're so very close to experiencing "that" feeling.
Avatar
Deleted User 5/3/2018 5:38 PM
Yeah it's very confusing
Avatar
Still - give it time, keep giving them experience, and you'll see what happens.

Deleted User 5/3/2018 5:41 PM
How long have you had your tulpa?
Avatar
(Today I turn 17 months lol) (edited)
Avatar
Became 5 years old two days ago.
Avatar
I have been around for... roughly 7 years.

I'm 23 days old... even though it feels longer. (I mean it was... nvm, long story.) -Wolf

I can't keep Nin9 (Nine, 9) in a single form. I know he's awake. Awareness is questionable, but I can't keep an image on him.
Avatar
bduddy #Diana# 5/3/2018 7:48 PM
maybe he doesn't like whatever form he had?
Avatar
Jack o' Nin9's 5/3/2018 7:51 PM
He's digging the whole "floating ball of light" thing, but we both know that's not gonna fly long term. That's just supposed to be like an "egg" that we force him out of.
Avatar
There is nothing wrong with using that as a final form.
7:56 PM
The 'form' is literally just an imagined visual that you and/or your tulpa identify with as a means of symbolizing communication.
Avatar
Jack o' Nin9's 5/3/2018 8:01 PM
The thing is, last time I made serious efforts to completely "wake" Nin9, his form cracked, like an egg. So I'd assume that eventually they'd change. I just find it a bit stressful that they seem to refuse a form at the moment.
8:04 PM
The mad blinking and mental acrobatics and feats of aerodynamics are cool and all, it'd just be easier to express thought with form with no voice.
Avatar
bduddy #Diana# 5/3/2018 8:05 PM
well, if he likes it, why not just let him keep it for now?
Avatar
Jack o' Nin9's 5/3/2018 8:07 PM
Because I don't speak lightning bug.
8:09 PM
All in a pursuit to understand him where they are, not some selfish stubbornness. (edited)
Avatar
bduddy #Diana# 5/3/2018 8:16 PM
you share a head. I'm sure you can find some way to understand each other.
Avatar
can anyone tell me how to get a soulbond?
Avatar
Ryukil, you should check this site out - http://soulbonding.org/app.php/about
Avatar
thanks, I think I did see it but forgot, haha.
11:42 PM
but I'm obsessed with a fictional character, so perhaps soulbonding is a better option anyway
Avatar
Are you the guy who made that post to the subreddit?
Avatar
hah, I thought that was a funny coincidence
Avatar
yeah, haha
11:48 PM
when would one consider a tulpa sentient? Sorry all, I don't want to bother you with this again. I think I have a young tulpa though, and just abandoning her seems pretty terrible. maybe I could put her in stasis?
Avatar
You'll get varied answers on that.
Avatar
yeah. the one experience I had may have been just "my imagination" anyway, but I understand that's essentially what tulpae are
Avatar
bduddy #Diana# 5/3/2018 11:50 PM
why would you abandon her?
Avatar
not that they're not real, but they kind of operate on the pathways of your imagination
11:51 PM
ha, partly because the tulpamancy community suggested I put a hold on things
Avatar
bduddy #Diana# 5/3/2018 11:52 PM
oh, that's who you are. Well... perhaps the answer to your latest question will inform you. Unless you have a seriously metaphysical viewpoint and believe that fictional worlds actually exist, there is no real difference between soulbonding and creating a tulpa based on a character.
Avatar
ah. soulbonding is more metaphysical?
11:52 PM
I guess it's sort of implied by the name, kek
Avatar
bduddy #Diana# 5/3/2018 11:53 PM
yes. I believe the original theory was that you were "actually" bonding with the "actual" character.
Avatar
ok...interesting.
11:53 PM
I guess it's like the "walk-in" tulpas people have
Avatar
bduddy #Diana# 5/3/2018 11:54 PM
well, sort of. I believe "walk-in" was also a semi-metaphysical term, but that's not really the case now.
Avatar
alright. yeah, I have no clue. Anyway, perhaps I should consciously put her in stasis or something. assuming she's there at all :/
Avatar
bduddy #Diana# 5/3/2018 11:56 PM
well, I think you know my opinion already.
Avatar
I don't, haha
Avatar
bduddy #Diana# 5/3/2018 11:57 PM
well, I posted in several of your topics.

is your name there Diana? Think I remember, just don't remember what you said.

I tried, multiple times, to tell you that I don't think you'll have any issues with your OCD, except for the ones you make yourself. But you seem to be unable to not do that.
Avatar
no, I do agree with that.
11:59 PM
one poster here said some things to freak me out, saying I don't really have OCD and things like that, and that kind of made me stop.
12:00 AM
not to blame the person, just saying that was what made me sort of decide to just stop.
Avatar
Are you PMelol?
Avatar
I was there, that other guy was pretty bleh. Welcome back, it's nice to see you back on.
Avatar
anyway, I did tune down the frequency of my posts, haha.
12:01 AM
didn't really want to annoy anyone. But OCD can make you doubt everything. Especially when it's something new and totally alien to me like tulpamancy, ha
Avatar
Oh there's no worries with post count, like I said, you're concerned and that's okay.
Avatar
haha. yeah. I'm pretty sure I realize the fear of a tulpa taking over my body and making me commit crimes is totally ridiculous
Avatar
Mhm. Don't believe that fear-mongering.
Avatar
Even if they were capable of doing that, it would be pretty gnarly.
Avatar
but maybe some people misunderstood that OCD can make you worry about stuff like that..."harm ocd" etc. It's in any book on OCD damn it!!
Avatar
bduddy #Diana# 5/4/2018 12:04 AM
I think what many people, including me, were trying to tell you, is that having and worrying about intrusive thoughts is not so unusual after all, and it's not a bad thing.
Avatar
gnarly?
12:05 AM
yeah, agreed. I can imagine many people having intrusive thoughts while making tulpas since the whole thing is thought-based, I guess. not to worry anyone :/

What is a soulbond?
Avatar
According to .io's glossary: "A system member who has the identity of a fictional character (fictive), from the work of someone either inside or outside the system that has been adopted into one’s own mindspace. Can overlap with tulpas or walk-ins."
Avatar
Jack o' Nin9's 5/4/2018 12:09 AM
@Ryukil Nin9 is technically several months old now. So, I'd personally say that as long as you don't forget them, they're as present as you want to be. So a form of stasis it is., I guess (edited)
Avatar
@Jack o' Nin9's well, I certainly like that idea.
Avatar
bduddy #Diana# 5/4/2018 12:10 AM
like I said, the term originally had more of a metaphysical connotation.
Avatar
It's all based on belief, anyway.
Avatar
Soulbounds are more metaphysical, yeah. .info primarily focuses on the psychological aspects of things.
Avatar
Ok @Ryukil a tulpa wouldn't do anything to harm it's host it would harm it's self. If that helps

question!

I found a guide I really like, it's the 24 hour one and I'm wondering if anyone has any thoughts here

24-Hour Guide to Tulpamancy Foreword So, because I achieved such outstanding results within 24-hours in the creation of Aiko, I'm going to compile a guide of how exactly I went about creating her, and
